Junior football in Kwinana has been around for almost as long as the town itself. In the mid 1950's an area of land was annexed from Rockingham to create the Kwinana Districts, and a few short years later, the Medina Football Club was born. In 1959 110 boys were playing football for the club. Some years later, a rival team was formed, the Calista Football Club.

In the early 80's the Medina and Calista Football Clubs joined forces to become one team based at Calista oval. They adopted the name Kwinana Junior Knights Football Club, changing their colours to the Red, White and Blue. KJKFC has been an integral part of the community ever since.

In recent years the club has enjoyed a great deal of success both on and off the field. Our coaches have been acknowledged by the South Fremantle District Development Council, with Darrin Bryden being awarded "Junior Coach of the Year", and Ray Howard taking out the "Senior Coaches Encouragement Award" in 2005. And in 2006 KJKFC was awarded "Youth Club of the Year".
